That was so nice of you to write him Holly. It might have been the only time that he ever had someone reach out to him. Added bonus that you gave your contact information. We need more people like that. People that care about others. Best of luck to him, I hope he makes it.

Best wishes to George!

Now I want to hear more about three-day squirrel in the bathroom!

🤣We will pick Jonah up tomorrow for a weekend trip. I’ll see if I can get more scoop on that for you. I’ve been toying with the idea of asking him to do a guest post, but im almost afraid...

Oh that's such a great idea!

“...so he speaks Gen X. “

IMO, Hearing (or reading) encouragement from an unexpected source has double the effect. Not unlike when we were kids and another parent cheered you on. Good on you for doing that!

#TeamGeorge 🤣 When we speak to him again we’ll let him know he has his own hashtag!

Regarding encouragement from an unexpected source--I hadn’t thought about that, Kevin, but you are so right. Thanks for your thoughts.

Lovely prayer for George. It’s been a long time since I contemplated the various names of God. They feel intimate and personalized.

Also, “... he speaks Gen X.” 😂 Relatable.

I’ve been reacquainting myself with them. It has been good for my spiritual life.

Also, is there any other language?!😉

Of all the posts I've read of yours, this might be my favorite... and that's saying a lot. I'm not a religious person, a product of my mom Helen (thank you God thank you God, it must be cancer) but I'm nothing if not a believer in God. I'll likely never be religious in a formal sense, but your prayer made me think... awww but to be able to deliver such an eloquent prayer. I'm sending both your son and George my version of prayer. Thanks for being you and reaching out to George. 💟

Thank you so much, Sue. This truly made my morning. There is no greater gift, I think, than sending up a prayer for someone--no matter how eloquent or awkward, long or short, in a church pew or in the middle of a forest that smells so evergreen you could weep. Thank you for praying for Jonah and George.

(And I enjoyed thinking again of one of the first posts of yours that I read--it reminded me so much of my own mother!🤣)

Spreading kindness...that is my life blood as it is yours. May George's path be one filled with laughter and success. May your son continue to move forward on his path and when it "bumps," may he ride the bump like a joyous wave and land, feet planted, ready to continue forward. As you, Sweet Holly, may the dark moments hold the flicker of light I am holding for you.

Gosh, Holly. Super post. I’m glad to have met George through your words. This journey - yours, Jonah’s - has such wonderful characters with their own stories. Wonderful stuff.

Thank you for the film recommendation - I’m looking forward to watching ‘Burn Your Maps’.
